Data & Account Deletion

Last updated: 23 August 2026

You can delete your Stockist account and associated personal data at any time. This page explains how to request deletion, what we remove, and what we are required to keep.

Option 1 — Delete in the app

  1. Open the Stockist app and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile → Delete account.
  3. Confirm the request. Your account is deactivated immediately and your personal data is queued for deletion.

Option 2 — Request by email

Email support@stockist.site from the email address on your account, with the subject “Account and data deletion request”. We may ask you to confirm your identity to protect your account. We will action verified requests within 30 days.

What we delete

On a verified request we delete or anonymise the personal information linked to your account, including:

What we may retain (and why)

Some records must be kept to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, or to resolve disputes and prevent fraud. Where retained, these are kept only for as long as the law requires and are then deleted:

DataReasonTypical period
Invoices, delivery notes & transaction recordsSouth African tax & company lawUp to 5 years
Payment references (via Paystack)Financial reconciliation & fraud preventionUp to 5 years
Records needed for a live disputeLegal defenceUntil resolved

Retained records are minimised and access-controlled. Card details are never stored by Stockist — they are handled by Paystack.

Shared transaction records

Where you traded with another business on Stockist (for example an order between a buyer and a supplier), the counterparty keeps their own copy of the shared order, invoice and delivery note as part of their business records. Deleting your account does not remove those records from the other party’s books.

Cancelling a subscription

Deleting your account also ends any active subscription. For how billing and cancellation work, see our Refund & Cancellation policy.
